Project Brief

The Microdot platform leverages microdot technology to protect and recover assets.

The microdots, containing unique identification numbers, are applied to assets and linked to a national database accessible to law enforcement and insurers.

This technology deters crime, improves recovery rates, reduces vehicle theft, and prevents vehicle cloning.

Key applications include vehicles and household assets. The platform integrates seamlessly with various user interfaces and APIs to support its operations.

Key Objectives

The primary objectives of the Microdot platform include:

  • Crime Deterrence: Provide a robust system to discourage asset theft by making assets traceable.
  • Asset Recovery: Enhance recovery rates through unique identification and a centralized database.
  • Vehicle Theft Reduction: Support compliance with regulations requiring microdot technology for vehicles, reducing theft by 50% and improving recovery rates to 97%.
  • Cloning Prevention: Mitigate fraudulent replication of vehicle identities.

The solution is designed to serve multiple stakeholders, including OEMs, aftermarket agents, law enforcement, and insurance companies, ensuring an integrated and scalable approach to asset protection.

Tech Stack & Operating Environment

The Microdot platform employs a robust and scalable tech stack, including

  • Backend: MSSQL for primary storage and blob storage for documents (S3 or Azure compatible).
  • Frontend: SAPUI5/OPENUI5 for interfaces, enhanced with JavaScript and CSS.
  • APIs and Integration: C# (.NET Framework 4.7.2 API) and Node.js components for live data processing and integrations.
  • User Access: Supported on modern desktop browsers like Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari

The system is designed for flexibility, supporting OEMs, agents, and administrators in managing and verifying microdot-protected assets efficiently.
